Cancer is perhaps the most dreaded word in the medical world, especially so in children. When a child is diagnosed with cancer in our society, he is either taken abroad for treatment if affording or is rather left in a state of bewildered anxiety. Lack of a specialized unit where complete and quality treatment could be provided leaves a vast majority of children facing certain death. The Children Cancer Foundation was registered in December 1999 by a group of doctors, philanthropists, social workers and
parents of children suffering from cancer with a mission to provide quality cancer care to every child irrespective of paying ability. The journey that began in a single room has now blossomed into a well established children cancer unit. This could not have been possible without the unrelenting support from all walks of the society. |
