Brief Profile of the Organisation

The PPF has been involved in assisting the independent media in Pakistan since 1968. It does so by conducting training programmes in journalism, carrying out projects in research and documentation and campaigning to defend freedom of the press. The PPF organises workshops and seminars, in rural centres as well as in the cities, on issues facing the Pakistani media. It thus assists in improvement of professional skills and helps raise journalists' awareness on social, political and human-rights issues and on those related to the environment. The PPF has collaborated with leading national and international organisations in organising training activities.
