READ Foundation is one of the largest not-for-profit educational networks operating in rural Pakistan. It started off in 1994 with a mission of serving the underprivileged children through quality education. READ began its journey with 25 children, a committed teacher and a shabby rented building. But after fifteen years, READ Foundation has earned its due fame for offering value-based mainstream education with special emphasis on character building through academic excellence. Currently, the Foundation is
running a cohesive network of 339 schools with an ever-growing student body of around 70,000 children, guided by 3,277 teachers who skillfully incorporate the broader concepts of tolerance, moderation, child rights, and civic education as part of a regular curriculum. READ Foundation is providing free education to more than 7,000 orphan students, besides fulfilling their academic needs, to ensure that everybody gets an equal chance, at their door-step, of becoming self-reliant through education. |
