Rozan is an Islamabad-based non-government and non-profit organisation working on issues of emotional and mental health. Rozan was officially registered in December 1998, under the Societies Act of 1860 and was awarded tax-exemption status in 2005. In 2006, Rozan was granted the United Nation's special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Rozan's mission is to have worked with all people, especially women, youth and children, to collectively strive for a society that is violence free, self aware and accepting of itself and others.” Rozan chose this mission because it firmly believes that critical to the development of any society is the development of individuals within it. The latter, according to Rozan, translates into structures, systems, institutions and laws.
