Brief Profile of the Organisation

Shirkat Gah - Women's Resource Center was formed in 1975 as a collective effort to integrate consciousness raising with a rights and development perspective and to initiate projects translating advocacy in action. Today, Shirkat Gah has expanded well beyond the collective to an organisation operating across Pakistan, regionally and internationally, and enjoys ECOSOC status at the United Nations. Living upto its name (literally a place of participation), Shirkat Gah adopts a participatory approach in its internal functioning and all its activities.
