A Briefing Session for the members of the Sindh Assembly on the topic of �Effective Committee System� was held by PILDAT on 12th August, 2004. Speaker Sindh Assembly, Mr. Syed Muzzafar Hussain Shah, chaired the session.

Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi � MNA, Mr. Javed Jabbar � Former Senator and Fedreal Minister for Information and Media Development, Prof. Talat A. Wizarat � Chairperson, Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, Mr. Malik Aftab Ahmed Joiya � Deputy Secretary (Admin) Punjab Assembly spoke on the occasion.

The Briefing session was attended by 18 Members of the Sindh Assembly, 4 members of the legislative staff of the Sindh Assembly. A Briefing Paper titled as �Committee System of the Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan� was especially developed by PILDAT for this occasion and was distributed among the participants.

All speeches were followed by an active Question/Answer session that provided a forum for debate and exchange of ideas between the speakers and the participating audience.
