The Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentarians' Dialogue, facilitated by PILDAT, is led from the Afghan side by Honourable Senator Farukh Shah Faryabi Jenab, Secretary, Meshrano Jirga, while Honourable Senator Afrasiab Khattak, (ANP, KP) Convener of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in Senate of Pakistan chaired the Dialogue from the Pakistani side. Honourable Aftab Sherpao, (MNA, QWP-S) Convener of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in National Assembly of Pakistan also addressed the Dialogue Session.

Initiating the Dialogue Honourable Senator Afrasiab Khattak welcomed the Afghan Parliamentary Delegation and said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are two brother countries who should solve their problems through the Dialogue.

Dialogue Co-Chair from Afghanistan Honourable Senator Farukh Shah Faryabi Jenab, said that Parliamentarians' Dialogues between the two countries are important as these dialogues open avenues for discussion on the two countries need to move forward.

Condemning the recent incident at All Saints Church at Kohati Gate, Peshawar and lost of lives of many innocent people, Honourable Mr. Aftab Khan Sherpao, (MNA, QWP-S) Convener of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in National Assembly of Pakistan, said that terrorism is consuming not only Afghanistan but Pakistan as well. He said that MPs from the two countries should very try very hard to address the issue of terrorism on priority basis. He also said that dialogue is also important to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

Dialogue series among Parliamentarians of Pakistan and Afghanistan is aimed at facilitating a structured discussion among MPs from the two countries on issues of mutual interest and concern that impact the relationship between the two countries.
